Exclusive to Dark Stag, this straight handle razor uses normal double edge blades, which means you can choose your preferred brand. With an edge used for customer, it provides the most convenient path for a perfect shave. The one touch blade support mechanism mounted with a spring can be easily opened for cleaning and disinfection. Changing the blade only takes two seconds; simply pinch the head to remove the used blade and insert the replacement. The head offers a 1mm blade gap. This is the black edition created following the request of the barber.

What is a Kamisori?

What exactly is a Kamisori razor? The Kamisori dates back to over eight hundred years ago. Used by Buddhist monks to shave their heads, a symbol of their Buddhist faith. The most noticeable difference between Eastern and Western razors is the lack of scales (handle) in which to fold the blade. This can make their storage and portability a bit of an issue, hence the high-quality leather case we provide with every Kamisori we sell. The blade of a Kamisori is also traditionally shorter; an authentic example never exceeds two inches. Unique shape for more effective sharpening.

As Japan's boundaries gradually opened up to the rest of the world, Western-style razors were introduced to the masses. However, this did not have a significant impact on the sale of razors there... the Kamisori is still the preferred shaving tool in Japan to this day.
